UPDATE ON GOVERNMENT-FUNDED TRAINING IN VICTORIA (Skills First)

From 2026, our Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care will no longer be subsidised for new enrolments under Skills First Government Funding due to the Victorian Government’s policy changes for 2026, which remove early childhood training from funding priority in Victoria. This decision relates solely to government funding priorities and does not reflect our organisation, compliance record, training quality, or student outcomes. These funding reductions are expected to place significant pressure on an already stretched early childhood education and care sector, which is experiencing workforce shortages and ongoing challenges in meeting educator-to-child ratios. In response, we will continue to advocate for this decision to be reversed. In the meantime, we are offering self-funded enrolments with reduced course fees and a flexible pay-as-you-go payment option to support students and the needs of the early childhood sector.

“I recently completed my Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care with the support and guidance from Tina, and I am very happy with my whole learning journey. From the very beginning, everything went smoothly. During my study, Tina was an amazing trainer. She always marked my assessments on time and gave clear feedback. Whenever I needed help or guidance, she replied to my emails very quickly and explained things in a simple and supportive way. The online platform was easy to access and simple to use. The instructions were clear, and there were lots of helpful reading materials. Both the theory and practical assessments were straightforward and well-organised, which made studying online and self-paced much easier for me. Overall, studying with Suzan Johnston Training has been a great experience. The team is professional, reliable, and very supportive. In my opinion, this is one of the best RTOs to study online.
